Old Ghan Heritage Museum + My Favorites
This museum is located 10 minutes south of town and pays tribute to the Old Ghan train, named after the Afghan-led camel trains which used to travel the route. Today, the museum stands on a section of the old railway and features photographs and memorabilia from the Old Ghan era, as well as a steam locomotive and train rides for visitors. Visitors can peruse the gaol itself, as well as exhibits featuring women in aviation, camel trains and more. The museum is open daily February through mid-December 10am to 5pm.
